This large oil painting on linen canvas measures
48 inches high by 72 inches wide unframed and 53 inches high by
77 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep framed. This landscape painting
was painted by Connecticut Impressionist Artist Leif Nilsson from
life on location at Jennings Pond less than half a mile up Spring
Street from his Chester Studio. Painted on hot summer mornings
Leif was standing in the water barefoot as he created this composition.
It took him two years to complete the canvas because of its size
and the difficulty in carrying the stretched canvas to the pond.
