Please join us for a special Concert in the Garden at the Leif Nilsson Spring Street Studio & Gallery at 1 Spring St, Chester Center on Sunday, December 8th from 4pm to 6pm with The Rosenthals, with Naomi Sommers, a unique and thoroughly enjoyable family trio combining years of experience in bluegrass, folk and jazz. Phil Rosenthal is a world renowned singer and songwriter. He was lead singer and guitarist in the acclaimed bluegrass band, The Seldom Scene. His original songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe and Nick Cave. Phil’s son, Daniel, is an accomplished trumpeter and composer. He has performed with jazz legends such as Steve Lacy and Bob Brookmeyer, and has toured throughout Europe, Africa and North America with Boston’s famed jazz and latin ensemble, the Either/Orchestra. Phil’s daughter, Naomi Sommers, is a talented singer-songwriter. Her last solo release, Gentle As the Sun, gained much popularity in the UK and spent time at the top of the Americana radio charts in Europe as well. Together, the trio performs original music by all three musicians, as well as new arrangements of American folk tunes. All shows are BYOB, $10 donation. In the winter, the concerts are held in the gallery. For more information call 860-526-2077 or log on to http://nilssonstudio.com/events/index.html.
